Meet Katie Chiaramonte

Hi, Friend

As a queer cis woman, a mother of five children, an adoptive parent of a child with special needs, and a partner to a transgender woman, I understand that the road to individual self-discovery, parenthood, and so many of life's transitions can be filled with the need for empathetic support. My goal is to help you find your deepest strength through emotional comfort and gentle centering, empowering you to have your optimal experience.

As you move into a new chapter in your life, I am here to help you find your inner guide and learn to listen well. Your path is yours alone and you deserve to be present and cared for through it all. I can't wait to make that space with you.

I am committed to equitable support, reproductive justice, and generous self-empowerment for all birthing persons, every family structure, and anyone with a need for extra support through life's transitions.

Certified Birth Doula

Doula Trainings International (DTI)

DTI's doula training includes expert teaching and culturally humble approaches to equitable care. This training is equipping me to enter into your reproductive journey with care, consideration, and empathy. Meeting you exactly where you are.

B.A. in Family Services

University of Northern Iowa (UNI)

My education in Family Services has uniquely prepared me to interact with many family systems, reach out to individuals and families in crisis, and advocate for the rights of all birthing persons. My specialized training in family education, relationship dynamics, and academic research allows me to bring the best practices in the field of family development to you.

Hospital Volunteer

Des Moines/West Des Moines, IA

In order to become a well-rounded doula and also give back to the community, I serve as a volunteer in our local hospital's volunteer doula program. I believe this work is essential to my training and to understanding the inner workings of the hospital setting for labor and delivery, enabling me to better serve birthing people in our community.

Contemplative Spirituality

The Living School

My own spiritual journey has led me to a vast and open landscape. During my time at The Living School, I have learned the value of slowing down, listening, and honoring each individual's inner guide. Whether or not you choose to incorporate your spirituality into your experiences, know that I will respectfully hold that space for you.
